On Saturday, April 13th, Rueben and I finally got married!
We didn’t want a big wedding, so we had a tiny courthouse ceremony with just my immediate family. We got married at Travis County Precinct 3 in south Austin, and honestly it was perfect! I had looked at different judges in the area, and one stood out because they put effort into the weddings page on their website, which I hadn’t seen from anyone else. Judge Gamble married us, and she was so great! Really engaging, funny, and you can tell she truly loves performing wedding ceremonies.
We also decided to have a few different parties instead of one big one. We aren’t ones for tradition, obviously, and smaller affairs are so much more our speed than big ones where you don’t even get to talk to everyone that’s there. So, after the ceremony we had a small party for friends at Fitzhugh Brewing, and it was also pretty perfect. The weather was beautiful and it was such a relaxed and fun environment – exactly what we wanted.
We have such amazing friends and family. We felt so loved all day, and loved seeing different groups of friends mingling together!
My parents threw us a wedding brunch in my hometown of Del Rio and it was so relaxed and great! Family and family friends were there and catching up was so wonderful. Thanks to my uncle Fred for the Ramada room! Their food is seriously good.
We can’t thank everyone enough! From dress shopping, my bachelorette party, to taking photos at the party because Rueben and I didn’t even look at our phones – our loved ones have made us feel so special.
Huge thank you to my sister, Anjie, for flying back to Texas twice in a month to celebrate with me! And of course, my parents, Rosemary and Jim. We couldn’t have done this without you.
I’m so happy for ya’ll to have found love and friendship within each other. Get reminisce with pics. Love ya’ll from Diana and Greg.
