We’ve been living the RV life for about five months now, which, wow! Honestly, it’s so great. In the evenings we’ll sit outside and look at the stars, and the galaxy(!), and say wow, we are lucky to be able to do this. To go where we want, when we want, still be able to talk to loved ones, and work all at the same time.
2019 was an interesting year! We lived in San Antonio, hung out with friends and family, but didn’t really take advantage of all that the city has to offer. While it was nice being in a beautiful apartment and getting settled in our jobs in San Antonio, we really missed traveling. We did take a great three-week road trip to The Great Smoky Mountains (more on that later!), but we wanted more.
So, we decided 2020 was our year of travel! We put all of our stuff in storage, and headed to Mexico for a couple of months. Then…the pandemic put a hitch in our plans. In fifth grade, I got to go to McDonald Observatory for a star party, which blew my mind. Not only did I get to buy freeze-dried ice cream and look through huge telescopes, a shooting star appeared at the same time that the tour guide was talking about them. We thought he somehow planned it!
