Birds of Galveston – A Photo Story

I love photography, it’s obvious. I love looking at photos, taking photos, and editing them. There are times, however, when I feel no inspiration to take photos. It’s usually when I’m in a city, not surrounded by nature. I felt that way for a long time, especially once we came back from Mexico.

When we went to the beach in January I thought, how many photos of the beach can I possibly take? Apparently a lot! Still, the motivation wasn’t completely there. That was until we went to Galveston Island State Park where we saw some amazing birds!

You have to take a ferry to get to Galveston from Bolivar Peninsula, and on each side of the ferry station there are jetties that we explored one misty, incredibly foggy day.

While we were on the first jetty, we saw some birds I’d never seen before, plus lots of pelicans!

This was SUCH an awesome sight to see! We had driven by so many times, and it was really exciting for me to stop and take photos of all the birds. Even though it was misty and foggy, it was still a pretty awesome day taking pics of the birds!

Next up: our new spot in Canyon Lake!
