Back in Texas and Enjoying Nature

After spending a week in San Angelo, we decided to be closer to friends and family, especially since the holidays were coming up. We were still being safe wearing masks, keeping our distance, but we at least wanted to be able to see everyone in person! Plus, we had just boondocked for almost two weeks so having electricity and running water were high on our list!

So, we picked a beautiful location in between San Antonio and Austin in Seguin, TX. Meadow Lake Resort is right on the Guadalupe River, and it was incredibly peaceful! You can sit right by the water, feed the ducks, relax, fish, and occasionally watch people in boats go by.

We ended up spending two months in Seguin, which was great because we got to see both friends and family. We also spent a ton of time outside since the weather was nice! We visited parks in Seguin, New Braunfels, and San Marcos.

Walnut Springs Park in Seguin

Seguin is known for its pecans – they’re huge! We visited Riverview and Max Starcke Parks a lot, and there were always people gathering pecans.

Our favorite, Max Starcke Park

Ramon Lucio Park, San Marcos

We also visited Palmetto State Park, which is so nice! They were limiting park capacity while we were there, so we made reservations online. The weather was perfect for walking around this beautiful park.

How many vultures can you spot? This park had SO many vultures haha I know it’s weird, but I love them. I love seeing them fly overhead, like that they ‘clean up’ our roads by scavenging, and just think they’re cool!

We were very surprised by all the palm trees!

We really enjoyed being in Seguin! We made friends with our neighbor, spent a great amount of time outside enjoying amazing weather, and got to see friends and family which is always, always welcome. Next stop – the beach!
